All foreigners who have a Permanent Residency approved under the category of Friendly Nations Visa can apply for a Work Permit.
Work Permit for Friendly Nations Residency
The work permit is requested once the residency is approved and the main requirement is to provide the resolution that grants it. This permit has also allowed to file the process in the Labor Ministry while the documents in Immigration are in process.
What ectivities can you execute one you have your work permit?
You can either work for a company or third parties as employee, as a freelancer or through your own company. In this aspect, it should be noted that regardless of whether you have your work permit, companies must also comply with the percentage established by the Law for hiring foreigners.
Also, bear in mind that there are restricted careers that are reserved only to Panamanians.
Should you renew your work permit with the Permanent Residency of Friendly Nations?
Yes, the work permit issued will be granted provisionally for three (3) years, and can be renewed.
For the extension, the following requirements must be apply:
- Paid nine (9) Social Security installments or income statement with their respective good standing certificate by the General Directorate of Revenue.
- Power of attorney.
- Authenticated copy of the resolution issued by the National Immigration Service if you have one.
- Certificate issued by the National Immigration Service, stating the immigration status of the applicant (B/.8.00 national stamps).
- Notarized copy of ID.
- Four (4) passport-size photos with the applicant’s name written on the back.F. Payment to the National Treasury for (US$/.250.00).
